Gymnasts from local club score big at International meet

Several members from Bluewater Gymnastics received medals

This past weekend several members of the Bluewater Gymnastics Club were awarded medals at the International Gymnix meet in Montreal, Quebec.

Included among the achievements were a bronze medal on bars for Amy Bladon (Level 10), who earned sixth place overall.

Jovie Richardson (Junior High Performance) placed ninth on bars and Rachael Riley (Junior High Performance) competed in the Junior Cup as part of Team Canada, was part of a team that received a bronze medal. Rachael also qualified for vault finals where she also received a bronze medal.

Avery Caleffi (Level 6) placed fourth on floor, Tyleigh Winger (Level 7) placed fourth on beam, Erynn Hutchinson (Level 6) had a gold medal on vault, bronze on bars and silver all around.

Emily Wilson (Level 6) placed fourth on beam and sixth on bars, Addison Dawson (Level 6) placed seventh on bars, Jaycie Turnbull (Level 6) had a gold medal on beam, gold on floor, and fourth all around.

Rachel Winklmeier (Level 6) had a silver medal on bars, fifth on floor, and fifth overall. Haile Harrower (Level 6) placed sixth on bars, and Lyla D’Andrea (Level 8) finished 11th on vault!

The girls competed against athletes from clubs all over Canada and the world. Some countries that sent athletes include U.S.A., France, Jamaica, and Japan, making it a great experience for everyone involved.
