‘Let’s Talk Food’ group identifies priorities as part of assessment

Actions to improve Lambton County food system will follow a meeting in February

Three priorities have been identified for the Let’s Talk Food Lambton Community Food Assessment (CFA), which aims to identify actions to improve Lambton County’s food system.

Priorities include:

  • Food knowledge and skills
  • Access to healthy food
  • Access to food produced in Lambton

“We would like to thank the 55 food system stakeholders who attended Priority Setting Roundtables and provided input on food related priorities for Lambton County,” says Lana Smith, Lambton Public Health nutritionist.

The next step of the CFA is to identify recommendations for proposed action to address these priorities. Community stakeholders interested in being involved in the next step are invited to attend a meeting on Tuesday, February 9 from 10 a.m.- noon at the Clearwater Arena. Participants must register by February 4.

Those interested are asked to call (519) 344-2062 ext. 2111 or toll-free 1-800-387-2882 to register.
