Monte McNaughton represents Lambton-Kent-Middlesex; MPP Bob Bailey becomes Parliamentary Assistant to Minister of Government and Consumer Services

One of the Members of Provincial Parliament representing portions of Lambton County was named Minister of Infrastructure in the newly elected Progressive Conservative government of Doug Ford.

Monte McNaughton represents the Lambton-Kent-Middlesex, which is adjacent to Sarnia-Lambton.

His colleague, MPP Bob Bailey, representing Sarnia-Lambton, was named Parliamentary Assistant to MPP Todd Smith, the new Minister of Government and Consumer Services.

Bailey said he was honoured to serve in this capacity.

“I look forward to working directly with the new Minister of Government and Consumer Services, Todd Smith, to help restore accountability, responsibility and trust in our provincial government.”

The Ministry of Government and Consumer Services delivers important services for citizens, business and the Ontario Public Service.  Chief among the responsibilities of the MGCS is the oversight and management of services at Service Ontario and Consumer Protection Ontario.

Parliamentary Assistants support ministers with legislative and committee matters, including special projects and assignments that require dedicated leadership. They also play a key role in building relationships and communicating government initiatives across the province.

In all, Premier Ford named 21 new cabinet ministers and 26 parliamentary assistants from the 76 member caucus.
