Local high school coaches have prepared their participating badminton students for pre-LKSSAA. Students travel to Saint Francois Xavier to play in an all day pre-LKSSAA tournament to see who will compete in LKSSAA next week. The best 16 students of each local high school have practiced hard for this tournament in hopes of making it to the next competition.

Juniors played on Tuesday, while the senior teams competed Wednesday. With 7 courts at a time, the players were able to play many games and cheer on their fellow participants.

Seniors played Wednesday, competing against various participants of various skills. As a competitive tournament, no mercy was shown to opponents.

The Northern junior team had a successful day, bringing home 62 points in total for Northern. St. Clair’s ladies doubles team, ToriAnn Miller and Kate Prudom, brought home victory to their team as they took 1st in the ladies doubles division. Northern boy’s single players, Priyank Patel and Kaedan Canie, are able to take home a victory of 1st and 2nd place, therefore moving on to LKSSAA next week.

Congratulations to all players who participated in the pre-LKSSAA tournament and good luck to those who will compete in the LKSSAA tournament next week.
