Battle of the 402 goes to the West

Sting thrash the Knights 6-2 in a dominating win

Friday Night the Budweiser Gardens in London was not a happy place as the London Knights faced off against the visiting Sarnia Sting.  The Battle Of The 402, has been a long-standing rivalry and this time the West was best as the Sting downed the Knights 6-2.

After a scoreless first period, Sam Miletic started things rolling for London with a goal at 4:13.  But then the Sting opened up a can of domination as they would put four into the net.  Hugo Leufvenius, then defenceman Connor Schlichting, would hit twine, Brady Hinz kept things going and Anthony Salinitri would also put one past London netminder Joseph Raaymakers.  And that would be it for the Chatham native as he would be replaced by Jordan Kooy.

Sam Miletic would again put the puck past Justin Fazio but that would be it for London on the score sheets.  As Sarnia would add two more in the third period thanks to Jordan Ernst, who picked up his 18th of the season and Drake Rymsha who got his 17th.

Drake Rymsha and Connor Schlichting were the first and second stars of the game with Sam Miletic of the Knights getting the third star.  Justin Fazio was outstanding getting his 21st win of the season and turning away 31 of 33 pucks on the night.

Tonight the Sting are at home to the Flint Firebirds and it is Ugly Christmas Sweater Night at the Progressive Auto Sales Arena.  Game time is 7:05 p.m.  The stands have been a bit sparse as of late and this is a great night to see amazing Sarnia Sting Hockey.
