Nelson Mella is no stranger to music.
The pipe designer by day works as “DJ Phatfingers” at night and weekends, putting on various shows that include a number of events he has hosted on the Duc D’Orleans II, dubbed “Beats on a Boat.”
This year, the popular DJ is taking his magic (and that of some of his colleagues from London, Windsor and right here in Sarnia) to the Refined Fool, the downtown Davis craft brewery and bar that he is partnering with for an August 20 event.
“Beats on the Street” is a ticketed event ($15 in advance, $20 at the door) with proceeds going to two charities, Cystic Fibrosis Canada and Noelle’s Gift, a local charity formed by the parents of Noelle Paquette after the death of their daughter in 2012). Noelle’s Gift funds programs designed to help students who may not get enough to eat at home.
Advance tickets can be purchased at Refined Fool or online at www.beatsonthestreet.brownpapertickets.com.
