Bluewater Health begins sessions to help public gain insight

First two 'mini medical school' sessions will deal with cancer screening and prostate health

Many medical schools offer a “mini medical school” to provide the latest medical information to the public on various diseases/conditions. At Bluewater Health, an initiative to do just that has been announced by Dr. Michel Haddad, chief of staff, with the organization set to offer a series of lectures to the public on health topics of interest.

The first two talks are:

  • Dr. Youssef Almalki, Radiologist, will talk about Cancer Screening – Breast, Lung, and Colon, on Thursday October 24 from 7:00 to 8:30 pm.
  • Dr. Paul Martin, Urologist, will talk about Prostate Health on Monday November 18 from 7:00 to 8:30 pm.

Both sessions will be held in the Auditorium on Level 2, London Building at Bluewater Health.

“This is an opportunity for our physicians to provide valuable information on the latest research related to prevention, diagnosis, and treatment to our residents,” said Dr. Haddad. “People are always searching for reliable information on health topics so they can make informed decisions about their own health.”

Future topics include Diabetes and Advanced Care Planning.  Participants at the sessions can also assist in shaping future topics.
