Boat launches at Sarnia Bay to be completed in time for Salmon Derby

Launch available starting Thursday, April 26

City trucks were blocking access to the boat launch over the weekend as work still needed to be done on the floating docks.

The City of Sarnia’s municipal boat launch is expected to be available for public use beginning this Thursday, April 26, following the installation of floating wharfs.

Officials say the work will be completed in time for the 42nd Annual Bluewater Anglers Salmon Derby which starts on Friday, April 27.

Only the paving of the parking lot will remain and that work is expected to take place in May when area asphalt plants are reopened after the winter. During that time (about two weeks), Bridgeview Marina will accommodate boat launches.

Boat launch fees will not apply until the project has been completed.
