Sarnia-Lambton MPP will, for first time since being elected in 2007, sit in government

Sarnia-Lambton MPP Bob Bailey was re-elected in Thursday’s Ontario election, defeating his nearest competitor NDP nominee Kathy Alexander.

For Bailey, who has served as MPP since being elected in 2007 (when he defeated Liberal Caroline DiCocco), it’s the first time he now sits in government.

Bailey has said the work he has done in the past as an Opposition member will continue now as a member of government.

“I look forward to continuing that kind of work,” said Bailey last night.

What’s different, of course, is that Bailey will be “rowing in the same direction” with the 75 other PC members elected.

Expectations are running high based on PC promises in the campaign, something for which Bailey is fully aware.

More to come.

Congratulations Bob! The best MPP this riding has had since Lorne Henderson. Keep up the great work.
