Business After 5 sponsors help Chamber members with hiring practices

Workplace Group and Local Immigration Partnership offer tips to attendees

A very successful recent Business After 5 gathering, held January 18 at the Lambton College Event Centre, was a great step forward in an ongoing strategy to encourage members of the business community in their hiring practices.

Representatives of the Workplace Group and the Sarnia-Lambton Local Immigration Partnership, who sponsored the Chamber event, offered practical insights on why local employers should consider hiring internationally trained professionals.

The Workplace Group is headed by executive director Noeleen Tyczynski. The Sarnia-Lambton Local Immigration Partnership is a multi-sector council chaired by the County of Lambton and funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada that works with and for local immigrant and newcomer populations.

The next Business After 5 event will be February 15, 2017 at BrownStones Sports Lounge and Restaurant, sponsored by the Sarnia Sting Hockey Club. The event starts at 5 p.m. and will be followed by a Sting game, with special ticketing available to attendees.
