Organizers of a special April blood drive through Canadian Blood Services are hoping to get the word out: tomorrow’s event (Tuesday, April 10) has fewer than half the number of people registered to give than its goal of 96 units of blood.
Selena Landry, event coordinator for Canadian Blood Services’ South Central Ontario region, is hoping to spread word, tapping into recent news around the Humboldt Broncos bus tragedy in which more than a dozen people were killed.
“Walk-ins are welcome,” Landry said of the Sarnia event, which runs 2:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Dante Club, 1330 London Road.
“We currently have only 47 people booked in, which means we won’t meet our goal of 96 units of blood,” said Landry. “Please bring a friend or family member in with you to donate.”
