CANstruction entries are on display at Lambton Mall

Now, it’s the fun part: checking out the great structures that a dozen or so teams from around the community have created out of cans and other packages of food as part of the CANstruction 2016 effort to generate food for the hungry.

It was last weekend that the teams created their structures, but they’ll remain in place until March 22. A People’s Choice award will be given to the team who got the most votes (money) so be sure to pay a visit to Lambton Mall before March 17 to support your favourite.

At the end of the display, the Inn of the Good Shepherd will collect the food items for use in their food bank, which needs approximately 40,000 pounds of food every month to continue doing its good work.

Sarnia FC’s entry, ‘Our GOAL is to Sweep Away Hunger,’ took Junior Outstanding Structure honours.
The team from OLG Casino Point Edward answered the question: ‘Who’s Fighting Hunger in This World?’, taking Judge’s Favourite honours.
A team from LANXESS, the ‘Rubbernecks,’ took top honours in the Structural Integrity category.
