It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Keith Douglas Carruthers into the arms of Jesus at Bluewater Health on Tuesday, August 29, 2017, in his 86th year. Loving husband of Rosemarie (Guse) for 55 years. Cherished father of Angela (Arthur) Landeryou, Rhoda (David) Paradiso and Jennie (Aldo) DeSantis. Loving grandfather of Chloe, Sarah, Nicholas, Allegra, Carter and Evangelina (known as Tad by grandpa). Dear brother of Perry (Charlene) Carruthers. Survived by brother-in-law Ron Boyes. Predeceased by parents Bruce and Annie Carruthers, brothers David and Wayne Carruthers, and sister Mary Boyes. Will be missed by many nieces and nephews and the coffee club boys. Keith was a man of many jobs. He was a policeman, an orderly, an ambulance attendant, a cattle breeder, and owner of his own asphalt company. Out of all of his jobs throughout his life, one of Keith’s proudest moments was being a car salesman due to his love of cars. Thank you to Dr. Uppal, Dr. Teefy, Dr. Blake, Dr. Davies and the staff of Bluewater Health for their compassionate care of Keith. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him. Cremation and a private burial of ashes has taken place. A visitation will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Friday, September 1, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held at Sarnia Evangelical Missionary Church, 707 Talfourd Street, Sarnia, on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to Gideons International, or the Sarnia Evangelical Missionary Church (cheques only at the funeral home please). Arrangements entrusted to SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia.
