City staff will review proposals for naming rights at SSEC

Council to vote on staff recommendations at May 9 meeting

Sarnia City staff will be reviewing proposals for naming rights for the Sarnia Sports & Entertainment Centre, which are to be received by noon next Monday, April 18.

The announcement, which was made today (Tuesday, April 12) follows a 6-3 vote by Sarnia City Council on Monday to proceed with a staff recommendation to review proposals.

The arena, which was formerly known as RBC Centre, has since reverted to the original name, at least for the time being.

A minority of Councillors had pushed for a subcommittee of Council to be directly involved, but that was defeated.

Council will vote on the results of a staff review when it meets on May 9, 2016.
