In the featured photo, Canadian Coast Guard Ship Pierre Radisson, which has its home port in Quebec City, sails under the Blue Water Bridge at Sarnia on Saturday, March 31, 2018.

The vessel, with 34 Coast Guard personnel on board, was headed for Lake Superior to join the Canadian Coast Guard Ship Samuel Risley.

Both the Canadian and United States Coast Guards are ensuring commercial vehicles can transit safely and efficiently through the ice.

The St. Lawrence Seaway officially opened Thursday, March 29, marking its 60th navigation season.
