Coast Guard icebreakers were in Goderich on Monday to help keep harbour free

Sunday saw CCGS Samuel Risley and American icebreaker escorting vessels to Lake Huron

The Canadian Coast Guard Ship Samuel Risley along with USCGC Neah Bay escorted the ships Lee A. Tregurtha and Manitoulin along the St. Clair River to Lake Huron on Sunday January 7, 2018. CCGS Samuel Risley and CCGS Griffon spent the weekend freeing multiple vessels beset in ice in western Lake Erie and the St. Clair River, and escorting them through the ice.
