Core, Jim, (March 29, 2012)

Passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospice on March 29, 2012, Jim Core of London Line, Wyoming, Ontario in his 90th year. Beloved husband of Rose Marie for a wonderful 65 years and loving father of John (Donna), Tom (Jo-Ann), Ron (Linda), and Dave (Annette Schinborn). Proud grandfather of Jessica (Tim vanBodegom), Lindsay (Jen Tribe), Brian, Devon (Mark VanDeVelde), Geoffrey (Tabetha), Pamela (Derek) Haley, Nathan, Aaron, and Jackie and great grandfather of Leila, Aria, Ruby, Griffin and Claudia. Cherished brother of Pauline Hansen. Predeceased by sister Mabel Maxwell (1991) and parents P.J. (1978) and Ruby (1989) Core. 
Jim was born, raised, and later farmed for 30 years with his late brother-in-law Paul Hansen (2010) on the Confederation Line family dairy farm. Jim and Rose Marie built a retirement home on London Line in 1975. He was a respected member of his community and helped organize the Bluewater Growing Project of the Canadian Food Grains Bank. In his earlier years on the farm, he was director of the Lambton County Milk Committee, Bluewater Milk Transport and United Breeders. He was a lifetime member of Mandaumin United Church, a member of Lambton Presbytery of the United Church, and an early board member of the Lambton United Church Centre. Jim also served on the Committee of Adjustment of Plympton Township for 12 years. Above all else Jim was a deeply loved and highly respected husband and father.
Family and friends will be received on Sunday, April 1, 2012, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 2, 2012, at Smith Funeral Home, with visitation from 10:30 a.m. until service time. Interment to follow in Wyoming Cemetery.
