County offering free workshop on improving communications with young workers

Sarnia-Lambton employers looking for tips on improving communications with younger workers are being invited to a FREE workshop

Understanding Young Workers will be held Wednesday, March 6 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Lambton College's Lambton Inn.  University of Toronto Social Studies lecturer Garfield Gini-Newman will offer techniques designed to help employers better communicate with young workers about things like safety training, job tasks and customer service.

"Young workers (aged 15-24 years) think differently than older, more experienced employees," says Rose Atkins, health promoter with the County of Lambton Community Health Services Department.  "It's important for employers to understand how young workers think and learn ways to communicate effectively with this demographic."

A complimentary breakfast begins at 7:45 a.m.

Registration is required. To register or for more information about Understanding Young Workers, call (519) 344-2062 ext. 2142, toll free 1-800-487-2882, email or visit
