Daytime break and enter, theft from cars

The front door had apparently been forced open, said police, as there was obvious damage. Drawers had been pulled open and items tossed about. Jewelry is allegedly missing as well as cash.

Police believe the suspects fled through the back door.

In a separate incident, two vehicles parked in Canatara Park had apparently been entered yesterday around 5 p.m. Two purses, two wallets, two cells phones, cash and clothing were reportedly taken. The two purses were turned into Sarnia Police after being found a short time later.

The owners of both vehicles were contacted.

Police remind the public that if you decide to park your car with valuables inside, ensure they are out of sight. Secure them in the car prior to parking it and put the items in the trunk before leaving your vehicle.

Police are asking anyone with information on these crimes to please contact Sarnia Police at 519-344-8861 or Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477.
