Detroit auto show underway just a ‘hop and skip’ from here

Cobo Center event runs through this coming Sunday

Car enthusiasts will want to take the time to head to Cobo Center in downtown Detroit for the 2017 North American International Auto Show, now underway through this coming Sunday, January 22.

In fact, more than 100,000 people went through the event on Saturday, the first day of the public show.

An estimated 5,000 accredited journalists attended two days set aside for media last week.

One “kid friendly” feature of the show is a life-size version of “Lightning McQueen” the star of Disney’s Cars franchise—heralding this summer’s theatrical release of Cars 3.

Several hundred thousand square feet of space at Cobo Center is set aside for displays of what prospective buyers will find, either now or in the next few months, at dealerships.

In fact, researchers estimate about 50% of those attending the show say they’re in the market for a vehicle within the next year.

Happy shopping!
