Elderly driver remains in critical condition in London after hitting farm vehicle

Lambton OPP say a 78-year-old Brooke-Alvinston man who rear-ended a farm wagon Monday evening around 11 p.m. is in critical condition at London Health Sciences after first being transported to Blouewater Health by ambulance.

The incident, which police are still investigating, occurred when the driver, driving westbound on Oil Springs Line between Inwood Droad and Sutorville Road, ran into the farm vehicles.

At the time, two tractor and wagon combinations were on the roadway, one facing west unloading beans into another tractor and wagon that were facing east.

Police say there was lighting on both of the tractors and wagons.

Oil Springs Line was closed for several hours overnight while the OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigation team conducted their investigation.
