Elton John coming to town next week, highly anticipated show expected to deliver best of the Rocket Man

The Rocket Man Sir Elton John is expected in Sarnia for the first time, bringing his award-winning solo act to a sold out RBC Centre in just over a week.

On Friday, Sep. 7, the rock juggernaut will perform his Greatest Hits Live concert, featuring number one chart toppers and classic album tracks from his outstanding career that spans five decades.

According to RBC Centre Assistant GM Ryan Chamney the show has been sold out.

The legendary John will be bringing many of his international hits to the stage such as Your Song, Rocket Man, Grey Seal, Daniel, Bennie and the Jets, Philadelphia Freedom, Crocodile Rock and Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me among other notables.

“The music of Sir Elton John touches people on a very personal level. The songs that he and Bernie Taupin made famous resonate just as clearly today as they did when they first arrived on the airwaves decades ago.  Sarnia and the Royal Bank Center are honoured to have an artist of such worldwide renown sharing his songs with us,” said Mayor of Sarnia, Mike Bradley.

In his five-decade career John has sold more than 250 million records, with 35 gold and 25 platinum albums and 29 consecutive Top 40 hits, making him one of the most successful artists of all time. He has more than 50 Top 40 hits, including seven consecutive No. 1 US albums, 56 Top 40 singles, 16 Top 10, four No. 2 hits, and nine No. 1 hits.

John has won six Grammy Awards, four Brit Awards, an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award and a Tony Award.
