Enbridge Famous 5 Speaker Series continues this week

On Thursday, health speaker Jennifer Buchanan will speak at rebranded Holiday Inn

An ongoing speaker series sponsored by Enbridge continues this week with Jennifer Buchanan, a health entrepreneur, author and certified music therapist speaking at the Sunbridge Hotel on Venetian Boulevard.

The hotel, the original Holiday Inn, is undergoing a rebranding following the opening of a nearby Holiday Inn Express property. It is unclear whether the new Sunbridge signage will be up before Thursday, September 26.

The Famous 5 Speaker event, tickets for which are $40 and available by clicking HERE, begins at 11:15 a.m. (registration and networking), followed by lunch and speaker at 11:30 a.m.

Buchanan, who is on the Famous 5 Foundation, became a certified music therapist almost three decades ago. Since then there has been a shift from not being a recognized industry at all to becoming a legislated profession. As a leading expert, Buchanan has lead and grown through each of these transitions, serving hundreds of organizations through her award-winning company which she founded in 1991.

JB Music Therapy Inc. has thrice been nominated for the Community Impact Award by the Calgary Chamber of Commerce as well as received professional recognition awards from several of the organizations she serves including the Canadian Mental Health Association. Buchanan is the former president of the Canadian Association of Music Therapists (1998-2001, 2013-2015) and is recognized as an esteemed leader in bridging academic research in music, medicine and the public.

In her first book, Tune In, Buchanan educates the public on how music can reduce stress, boost mood and restore health at home, at work and during times of significant transition. In her second book, Wellness Incorporated, she shares nine strategies to help other health entrepreneurs strengthen their best practices.
