Enniskillen Township residents to go to the polls in January 2012 to fill council vacancy

Enniskillen Township Council has decided that the electorate in the small rural municipality will go the polls to fill a vacancy on council.

A date for the byelection has not been finalized, although it's likely to be held in January 2012.
The vacancy was created when Mayor Jim Burns resigned to become the Chief Administrative Officer for the Village of Point Edward, and Kevin Marriott was promoted from Deputy Mayor to Mayor creating the vacancy on council.
The byelection will cost the municipality upwards of $5,000.
