Five things to do

This weekend in Sarnia-Lambton, there are plenty of amazing events taking place. From Christmas Bazaars to Blues music, meetups with local politicians to singer/songwriters returning home for exclusive concerts, the weekend is turning into the best part of the week. Christmas Bazaar

Marshall Gowland Manor will hold its annual Christmas Bazaar this Friday, December 8 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be a ton of beautiful items for sale including artwork, jewelry, home decor, woodworking, handcrafted items and so much more. All proceeds will go to The Manor’s Residents’ Council and Auxiliary.  The event will be held at the Manor, located at 749 Devine Street. Corunna Legion hosts a Bake and Craft Sale on Saturday, Dec 9 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Proceeds go to Fred Victor Centre for Homeless Veterans.  For more information, call (519) 862-1240.

Grace United Church holds its Last Chance Christmas sale at 990 Cathcart Blvd. from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 9.  There’s a $2 admission for adults, kids 12 and under, free. Contact Pauline at kferguson25@cogeco.ca or call (519) 542-1203.

Sarnia Legion hosts Jingle Bell Christmas Bazaar and Craft sale at 286 Front St. N., from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, December 9.  Admission is free with any food or toy donation for the Sarnia Humane Society. For more information call (519) 491-6519.

Pop up Shop with Lace & Charm at Republik

Join Lace & Charm, a local women’s curated clothing store, on Saturday, Dec. 9 at Republik for holiday shopping, treats, and drink. Sarnia! It’s Great to be Home

Musician Preetam Sengupta will be hosting and performing in another edition of his 3rd annual “It’s Great to be Home!” show at the Sarnia Library Theatre. Joining him will be Beatchild (formerly Slakah the Beatchild, given name Byram Joseph). Sengupta will be fresh off his “Mostly East Coast” tour, celebrating his new (Beatchild-produced) album, ‘Patience’. The event runs from 7:30- 9:30 p.m on Saturday, December 9. Tickets are $20 each and are available from Personal Touch Eatery & Catering and Cheeky Monkey. You can purchase tickets online at www.preetam.ca.

Christmas Meet and Greet local politicians

Sarnia-Lambton MPP Bob Bailey and Sarnia-Lambton MP Marilyn Gladu will host their annual Christmas Meet and Greet at Lambton Mall this Saturday, December 9 from 10 a.m to noon. Join the local politicians for coffee and Christmas treats. Meetup will be held in front of Sears. For more information call (519) 337-0051.

Christmas Blues Extravaganza

This Saturday, December 9, is Robb Sharp and Lit’l Chicago’s 5th annual Christmas concert at The Station Music Hall (505 Campbell Street). The band plays primarily Blues music and are well known in the Sarnia area. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the event is 19+. Tickets are on sale for $10 in advance at Cheeky Monkey and are $15 at the door.
