It is the weekend before Valentine’s Day and love is in the air in Sarnia-Lambton. It seems as though the snow is here to stay with possibly more to come and the temperature will be hovering around -10 degrees Celsius. Black and White Ball
This weekend is Rebound’s Black and White Ball- the 19th annual installment of the Hearts for Youth Gala. The event takes place Saturday, February 10th from 6 p.m. to 12 a.m. at Holiday Inn Sarnia. The night features fine dining, wine, live and silent auctions and fantastic prizes. The ten piece funk-rock band Yasgurs Farm will play the event. Tickets are sold out, but you have a few days to try and get your hands on a pair!
Strangers Among Us at the Imperial Theatre

Romance appreciation night at Cole’s- Lambton Mall
Do you enjoy romance novels? Are you a Nora Roberts, Debbie Maccomber, Diana Gaboldon or NIcholas Sparks fan? This event is for you! Head over to Cole’s- Lambton Mall on Saturday, February 10th from 6 p.m.- 8 p.m. for romance trivia, chocolate tastings and free giveaways. Special guest that night will be Amy Ruttan, a Harlequin romance author from the Toronto area and Jennifer Suzanne of Sarnia. Cost is free!
Go on a blind date with a book
Sarnia Library is hoping for ‘love at first site” for their Blind Date with Books campaign. They are arranging blind dates between patrons and books for this Valentine’s Day. Take your love (or yourself) on a romantic date
There are plenty of wonderful places to go this weekend to spoil your loved one (or yourself!) Grab a coffee at Coffee Lodge or Coffee Culture and enjoy a romantic date over an expertly prepared latte or cappuccino. How about a romantic night at one of Sarnia’s newest restaurants like Mexico or Bad Dog Sarnia. Grab a pint down at Ups n’ Downs or Refined Fool or just spend some quality time together walking through Canatara Park or Centennial Park. There are plenty of things to do this weekend and many local businesses are offering events this weekend through Valentine’s Day.
