Although we had a brief respite from the cold this week, it is supposed to snow this weekend. That doesn’t mean you should stay in! There are plenty of amazing things to do this weekend in Sarnia-Lambton. From First Friday in downtown Sarnia to a ton of fun charity events, check out all of the great things in your community!

Live Music at Cheeky Monkey

Celebrate First Friday on March 2, in downtown Sarnia, by heading out to Cheeky Monkey from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. for a great night of music with The Four Barrel Blues Band. The event is free and part of the First Friday Cultural walkabout. For more information, head to the Cheeky Monkey website.

Revelree Nights

On Friday, March 2 at CCI Studios ( 136 Christina St, N) enjoy a night of socializing, music and dancing with Revelree Nights. This event will benefit One Spark (http://one-spark.ca/), an organization that focuses on eliminating violence against women and to increase opportunities for women to achieve financial security while transitioning into a violence free life. Tickets are $3 at the door after 8pm and the timeline for the evening is: 5:00pm – 8:00pm: Music, drinks and NO COVER, 8:30pm – 10:30pm: Acoustic talents of Cory James Mitchell, 11pm – 2:00am: Music and dancing with DJ Leo. Super Troopers 2 Promo Tour featuring Erik Stolhanske AKA Rabbit

This Saturday, March 3 from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the Sarnia Library Theatre, The Chem Valley Agency presents a night of live comedy featuring Erik Stolhanske from the movies Super Troopers, Beer Fest and Club Dread. The night will feature a sneak peak of the new film, Super Troopers 2. Tom Garland of the Tom Green show at Bally’s Vegas will also be performing that evening. Bowl for Kids’ Sake

This Saturday, March 3 from 4 p.m . to 10 p.m. at Hiway Bowl, Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Sarnia-Lambton will host a fun day of bowling with their fundraiser ‘Bowl for Kids’ Sake.” The event will include a family bowl in the afternoon with the main event happening in the evening. Beginner Weaving Workshop

On March 3rd from 1:30 p.m to 4:30 p.m.,  The Made Collective (181 Christina St, N) will be hosting a beginner weaving workshop. In the class you will learn to use modern tapestry loom to create an original weaving. Learn how to plan, design, setup and begin your woven piece. The goal of the workshop is to make you comfortable with weaving at home. You will receive a kit with the class handcrafted by the Made Collective. Space is limited. Cost of the class is $75.00.
