Five things to do

Regardless of the snow fall in Sarnia-Lambton this week, it is St. Patrick’s Day and the weekend of March Break. These annual indicators of Spring suggest that winter should be almost over. Celebrate this good news by getting out and enjoying all of these great events in Sarnia-Lambton this weekend!

March Break Bowling

Dog Fair

Get out of the house for a fun day with your dog! This Saturday, March 17th from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. is The Sarnia and District Humane Society presents a Dog Fair at Degroots Nursery.  Shop at incredible vendor booths  including Monika’s Homemade Dog Treats, Pawsitive Pottery, Petfood Warehouse, Broken canoe crafts-sarnia, and MANY MORE! St. Patrick’s Day in Sarnia

Head out to one of our local pubs in Sarnia this Saturday, March 17th to celebrate the annual traditions of Green Beer, Irish music and great music. Paddy’s will be hosting two days of music featuring Max Marshall on Friday night and The Blaggards on Saturday at 3 p.m. The Pub will be hosting Captain Finn and the Salty Sea Dogs. At Stoke’s by the Bay, spend the evening with Kip and Name That Tune Music Trivia. At Lizard’s, spend the night listening to SHUFFLEPLAY. Continue the festivties on Sunday with Celctic Sunday at Ups n’ Downs from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. with Oysters and Jim Leahy’s legendary Celtic band.

In Motion Free Skate

This Sunday, March 18th at Clearwater Arena, In Motion is hosting a free skate from 1:30-2:30 p.m. Meet in the community room for refreshments and snacks before and after the skate. The event is open to everyone and In Motion will be donating $2.00 per person to the YMCA Strong Kids program. For more information call (519) 542-6060.

Lawrence House House Concert Series presents Deciduous

The Lawrence House Centre for the Arts hosts a series of concerts that showcase the musical talent in the Sarnia-Lambton area. This March 18th at 3 p.m., join local musicians Deciduous in an intimate concert. The country trio, based out of Alvinston, Ontario play original songs of lead singer Vanessa Jane Benoit. Their music is ‘woven around the voice of Vanessa, by the electric guitar and banjo playing of Jason Benoit and the fiddle and mandolin works of Denis Gadwa’. Tickets are $10 including HST and are available at the Lawrence House or online.
