Former Sarnia teacher arrested and charged, again

Christopher McLister, 37, was arrested on Jan. 23 and faces a new charge of Criminal Harassment stemming from a no contact order put into place after he was convicted of Sexual Exploitation last year.

McLister, formerly of Sarnia, plead guilty last year to sexual exploitation involving a local girl who was 17 when a sexual relationship started between them in Oct. 2008.

McLister is a former secondary school teacher and coach who taught at S.C.I.T.S. and the victim was his student.

He was convicted last year on that charge, sentenced to seven months in jail, and told not to have any communication with the girl.

McListen had also been previously charged and then convicted with Failing to Comply with a condition of his release order.

In January of this year, he communicated with the original victim again. As a result, he was arrested and charged with Criminal Harassment and was released on a Promise to Appear and will appear in court on Mar. 20, 2012.
