Canada’s newest all-girl, pop rock group will be performing at Sarnia Ribfest on Saturday, September 2, at 11:00 a.m.
Girl Pow-R is made up of 14 young girls ages 10 through 15 who sing original music and cover songs while they dance and play instruments.
The band’s sound is rooted in pop rock and through their music and lyrics, they perform with the goal of inspiring others to be their best.
The group was launched at the same time as International Women’s Day and their first performance was at Yonge-Dundas Square in the centre of downtown Toronto.
Since then, the group has performed at Ribfest events across the province, Youth Day, the Pickering ArtsFest, the DuWest Street Festival, and the Brampton Kites Festival.
Girl Pow-R was also picked to perform at five Canada Day celebrations in the greater Toronto area, including an opportunity to perform at one of the largest celebrations at Downsview Park in north Toronto.
Each of the 14 girls represent a social cause such as advocating for girls’ education around the world, homelessness, and healthy eating.
