Goodwill is shuttering London Road Clearance Centre

Career Centre and Connections will continue as part of renovation work being done

While its Clearance Centre operation located in the London Road Shopping Centre will be closed as of March 29, Goodwill EKL says no jobs will be lost and services related to its Career Centre and Connections, which provides one-on-one or group sessions for people needing help with independence and social life skills, will continue as usual.

The news comes as the result of renovations being made to the London Road Shopping Centre.

Goodwill officials say plans are being finalized to open another donation centre in Sarnia, but in the meantime, shoppers are being encouraged to visit either the Michigan Ave. location between Murphy and Rapids Parkway, or the Wellington Street location, with both locations accepting donations.

CEO Kevin Smith said Goodwill intends to find the most convenient location for donors and employees.

In the meantime, Connections services will be gradually relocated to the Goodwill Career Centre adjacent to the existing London Road donation centre site.

“Staff will be outside to greet our Connections clients when they arrive for programming and ensure they understand the slight change to their routine,” said Smith.
