It is with deeply saddened hearts that the family of Jeffrey Gordon Grant announce his sudden passing at his home on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at the age of 65. Beloved husband and best friend of Gwen (née Nixon) of 11 years. Loving father of Rob (Ashley) Grant, Michelle (Brad) Ogilvie, and Ryan Grant; stepfather of Rene Barnier, Tiffany Violette and Pam Visser. Treasured grandfather of Derek (Jade Hawkins), Jarrod, Aaron, Tru and Mya Grant, Shelby and Erika Simard, Ryann and Emma Ogilvie, Sommer Grant and Jace and Brittany Hamilton; and great-grandfather of Clairyssa Grant. Dear brother of Christine (Larry) Patterson, Robyn (Steve) Armstrong, and Terry (Tina) Grant. Jeff will be fondly remembered by Rika and Jessie Grant, his close friends and his companion Tank, as well as many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his parents Wilmer and Beverly Grant. He was an employee of the County of Lambton in the Housing Department for over 30 years until his retirement this past September. Jeff was a social butterfly, always driving around town in his Beamer like he was famous. If you were looking for him, you would find him down by the casino or with his buddies at the closest coffee shop having breakfast. He was always caught up on the latest technology, and always had to have the newest gadget. Jeff was a carpenter at heart and took pride in building his family a home, which he would quickly sell and start on another one. He had a true love for music and was a DJ for over 35 years. His homes were filled with family and friends singing karaoke or playing guitar. Family was the most important thing to Jeff. When he wasn’t getting spoiled by the women in his life, he would be spending time with his kids and having sleepovers with his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 11, 2017 at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, with family and friends being received from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Sarnia and District Humane Society (cheques only at the funeral home please).
