Haley McKinlay gets ‘big thanks’ for fundraising efforts

Eighth grader at Colonel Cameron School in Corunna has earned reputation for her efforts in support of Operation Christmas Tree

The Optimist Club of Moore operates a food and toy hamper program each year at Christmas time known as Operation Christmas Tree.  This program provides food and toy hampers to the less fortunate folks in St. Clair Township Ward #1.

Just after her kindergarten year, Haley McKinlay a student at Colonel Cameron School in Corunna, started raising money each year in support of Operation Christmas Tree.

She will be graduating from grade eight this year and has wound up her 2017 fundraising efforts with a whopping donation of about $1,000.  This young lady and all the students and staff at Colonel Cameron School that have supported her fund-raising efforts over the years are well deserving of a huge thank you from the Operation Christmas Tree Committee and all the families that benefit from this program.

“On behalf of the Operation Christmas Tree committee we thank you so very much for your big heart, and we wish you every success as you move on into high school and beyond,” said Lorne Powell.
