How many ways can you be driving illegally?

An un-licenced 26-year-old Sarnia man learned the hard way that taking a car out for a test drive can lead to a court room visit.

On April 9, 2013 in the late afternoon, a Lambton OPP officer noticed a Chevrolet vehicle being operated in the Bright’s Grove area of Sarnia and a quick computer check of the licence plate revealed that the plate did not belong to that particular vehicle.

A subsequent traffic stop revealed that the validation tag on the vehicle had been altered with a black marker.

The accused now faces charges of driving while suspended, driving a motor vehicle without insurance, failure to apply for a vehicle permit on becoming the owner, and using a licence plate illegally.

A court date of June 14, 2013 has been set.
