It’s back to ‘business as usual’ at Bluewater Health after chiller malfunction

bluewater healthBluewater Health has recovered from its ailing chiller, with operating rooms that were affected by the malfunction that occurred earlier this week now at full capacity as early as today (Friday, August 29).

A hospital spokesperson said that while some operating rooms had remained closed on Thursday (August 28), all surgeries that were cancelled as a result of a valve in one of the building’s chiller units having failed have been rescheduled.

Emergency surgeries can now be accommodated, said the spokesperson.

It was two years ago this month that one of two chillers at the Sarnia site of Bluewater Health failed, leaving officials scrambling for an emergency replacement in one of the hottest times of the year.
