Job-focused three-year degrees part of Lambton College plan for future

Included in priorities submitted to the province recently as part of its strategic priorities are the planned offering of job-focused three-year degrees, says the president of Lambton College.

The degrees are intended to assist in the preparation of students for the knowledge economy, says Judith Morris, CEO.

The priorities outlined by the college include a Centre of Excellence in Energy and Bio-industrial Technology, a Centre of Excellence in Fire and Public Safety and a Mobile Learning College.

"Our proposal puts our students first,” said Morris. "We have consulted with students, faculty and staff and are pleased with our proposal."

Lambton College will remain focused on innovation and personalizing the student experience. In addition to student-focused learning, the college will develop more opportunities for aboriginal learners and applied research projects, and in partnership with our students will develop a number of social justice initiatives. This will continue to strengthen partnerships with industry and with the Western Research Park, and will ensure students are learning in the most up-to-date environments.
