Lambton College celebrated and recognized student academic excellence at the Academic Awards Ceremony this week when approximately $150,000 in scholarships were distributed to more than 100 students.
The annual event took place at the Lambton College Events Centre where high-achieving students from across 40 different academic programs came together with donors, faculty, staff, and Lambton College senior leaders in a special celebration of student success.
“These students have demonstrated fortitude and dedication in the pursuit of their academic goals. They exemplify the values that Lambton College holds dear: integrity, respect, teamwork, and excellence,” said Judith Morris, president & CEO of Lambton College.
This year, 157 individual awards were given out by a variety of donors who are committed to helping students succeed in their education, career, and life goals.
“These awards have been made possible through the kind contributions of like-minded donors and sponsors who believe, as Lambton College believes, that cost should not be a prohibitive factor in the pursuit of higher education,” said Marc Guilbeault, director of the Lambton College Foundation and Alumni Association.
Six new awards were introduced at this year’s Academic Awards Ceremony, which was hosted by presenting academic excellence sponsor BMO – Bank of Montreal, and Lambton College’s Student Administrative Council, which sponsored the student success awards.
