Lambton Lions kick off the season at home with one win and one loss

The Lambton College men's basketball team hosted  Sault College last Saturday (November 3) in their OCAA home opener.

Coaches, players and fans alike were all nervously excited to start off the season.

The men took the court and built up a good lead that would result in a close win 64-59.

The next day (Sunday November 4) the Lions took the court again, this time against Algoma University.

Algoma caught Lambton off guard in the first quarter of the game gaining a 8-24 lead very quickly.

Sadly, the Lambton Lions could not regain a lead and lost 86-59

When asked about the turnout of these two games head coach James Grant had this to say:

"We are a young team that is making some really costly mistakes right now. In the big picture we got the split we were aiming for but there is a lot more these players have to bring to the court each game. We have two days to prepare for St. Clair College and it's crucial we start doing things in a more controlled way."

The Lions have six away games until their next home game Tuesday, November 20.
