Lawn bowlers raise more than $1,200 at Breast Cancer Tournament

It was a good day for bowling and charity at the Sarnia Lawn Bowling Club on the holiday Monday, Aug. 4.

Twenty-two Open Pairs teams took part in the annual Breast Cancer Tournament, with over $1,200 raised for the Breast Cancer Society.

Competitors came from Grand Bend, London, Milton, Forest and Dresden, but in the end it was the Sarnia club members who prevailed. Winners Nick and Sandy Symes, runners-up Elsie McGill and Joyce Dewey, and third-place pair Grant Collison and Sharon Philpott, all hail from the local club.
