We have now reached $1,144,000 of the $2,000,000 goal.
TransAlta and WorleyParsons kicked off this week, and a number of other events are taking place this week will help keep our momentum going.
NOVA MECC is holding a beef on a bun and Canada Border Services is holding a presentation day on Wednesday, and WorleyParsons is holding a fashion show and bake sale on Thursday. Wawanosh is holding a chili lunch and Department of Fisheries and Oceans is wrapping up their Silent Auction all those events are taking place on Thursday.
More of the schools have completed campaigns this week, and many are well above last year. We are delighted with the results so far from the Sarnia-Lambton educators within the Lambton Kent District School Board, and the St. Clair Catholic District School Board.
Shell Canada has wrapped up this week and we expect to hear their official results next week. CF Industries is nearing the end of their pledge drive and indications are added some new donors over last year.
Overall, we are still trailing last year by a week or two, but we are still hopeful that this is more of an issue of timing, and we hope to catch up to last year’s totals to date in the next few weeks.
We are hearing a number of success stories from not only the manufacturing sectors, but also within the public sector, and other smaller workplaces.
Ineos Styrolution and Cabot Canada are examples of employee campaigns that are nearly completed their campaigns and are on track to reach or exceed their campaign goals.
Right now, we are in the process of mailing out follow up letters to retirees whose former companies will match their donations. Those retirees include NOVA Chemicals, Arlanxeo, and Cabot Canada, whose deadlines are approaching, and Shell Canada has just extended their deadline for two more weeks. We really encourage those retirees to make their pledges to double their impact.
