Library bringing books to Twin Lakes Village residents

New partnership is making sure residents have their reading needs met without having to leave their home

Twin Lakes Village residents Elizabeth Cusden and Margret Werden meet with a representative from Sarnia Library.

Twin Lakes Village and the Sarnia Library launched a partnership in March to help the seniors-living community’s residents access books.

Library staff members visited Twin Lakes Village in March to give a presentation for residents and to sign residents up for library cards.

The library staff members shared information about library events and discussed with residents options for new books, audio books, large-print books, magazines and more, explains fun co-ordinator Jennifer Beselaere.

The library staff visited with residents personally to learn about their interests, hobbies and reading styles. The library staff members will now bring in books to suit residents’ needs based on the information residents provided.

“Our residents now all have an up-to-date library card they can use for their monthly visits at our home or at any library in our community,” said Beselaere.

“It’s a great program, and our residents are all looking forward to having lots of new books catered to their interests on a monthly basis with the convenience of not having to leave the home.”
