The St. Clair Catholic District School Board announced John Van Heck as Board Chair this week. This is not a new position for Van Heck, having been Chair for the last three years and was Vice Chair before that. Van Heck will continue on his multi-year plan which he has set into motion, which focuses on student achievement, new schools in Chatham and enforcing the value of living by faith.
Van Heck will get a lot of help from returning Vice Chair Michelle Parks, who is now entering her 12th year on the St. Clair Catholic District School Board and her third year in the Vice Chair’s seat. Both have worked diligently on the expansion of Catholic Education throughout the Lambton Kent area.
With the retirement of Dan Parr, Director of Education with the Catholic board, Deb Crawford will take over as the Director of Education Designate.
The Lambton Kent District School Board also released the names of its new Chair and Vice Chair. Once again some familiar faces but this time taking on new positions. Elizabeth Hudie will assume the role of Chair while Scott McKinlay becomes the Vice Chair.
Both have served on the Lambton Kent District Board for quite some time, with Hudie working with the board since 2005. McKinlay has been involved since 2000, having been a previous Chair and Vice Chair.
Jim Costello will continue in the role of Director of Education and said he looks forward to working with the new Chair and Vice Chair.
