Next Friday’s ‘Do it for Sarnia’ to feature Eric Ethridge, The Rapids

Group lead by Dan Edwards hopes to raise $150k for Bluewater Health

Eric Ethridge will be one of the featured performers at next Friday night's Block Party event.

The Do it for Sarnia initiative, in conjunction with Bluewater Health Foundation, is gearing up to shut down Davis Street for a sold out evening of music and fun at the first ever Block Party fundraiser on Friday, May 6.

Davis Street will be closed from Christina to Julia to accommodate for the event, held directly in front of Refined Fool Brewing Co. The event runs from 5 to 11 p.m. to coincide with Sarnia First Friday celebrations. Tickets are now sold out, but a limited number will be available at the door on a first come, first served basis.

“We’ve been sold out for weeks,” says Kathy Alexander, Executive Director, Bluewater Health Foundation. “People from as far as Toronto are calling to try and reserve tickets.“

Local musicians The Eric Ethridge Band and The Rapids will be the evening’s featured entertainers.

The Do it for Sarnia initiative, spearheaded by Sarnia’s own Dan Edwards, aims to raise $150,000 for the mental health department at Bluewater Health.

“We are overwhelmed with the positive response so far,” says Alexander. “It’s a true testament to the impact Dan [Edwards] has on Sarnia-Lambton and beyond. We’re honoured to have the opportunity to not only help him reach his goal, but to support and raise awareness of a very important cause in our community.”
