Norman Street will be closed between London Road and Maria Street on Monday, February 5, according to Bluewater Health.
Hospital services will not be disrupted, but Bluewater Health advises anyone driving to the Emergency Department to approach from Russell Street onto Maria Street and then to Norman Street.
The closure comes as JMR Electric prepares to install a new chiller in the mechanical room on the seventh floor of Bluewater Health in Sarnia.
Access will remain open for ambulances approaching from London Road, businesses at the corner of London Road and Norman Street, and the Bluewater Health staff parking lot on Norman Street.
There will be no pull-up or drop-off location available during the construction work.
Bluewater Health says security services will help to direct foot traffic during the work and support patients, families, visitors, and staff.
This is the first phase of chiller installation and more road obstructions can be expected in the coming weeks. Bluewater Health will provide updates when the work will affect traffic on Norman Street.
If the weather is poor, the work will be delayed until Tuesday, February 6.
