On first day of HGS job fair, signs for a new area call centre look positive

If initial numbers are any indicator, Sarnia-Lambton is looking good as a possible location for a call centre operated by HGS.

Indeed, initial lines at the Lambton Inn event (which runs to 7 p.m. today and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday) were so long that officials decided to open the doors early.

HGS is looking at potentially locating a new 500 employee inbound-only facility and is eyeing both Sarnia and Chatham-Kent as possible sites.

Kathy Follett-Lloyd, vice president of Human Resources for HGS, said, "We are looking forward to meeting lots of applicants over the next two days. This job fair will not only be an opportunity for us to get to know Sarnia-Lambton, but also an opportunity for Sarnia-Lambton to get to know our HGS team and why we are known for our ‘Best in Class Customer Service’."

HGS offers many benefits to their employees including:

  • Full time positions
  • Health / Dental benefits package
  • Inbound customer service calls only
  • Additional performance compensation
  • AIR MILES rewards
  • Advancement opportunities
  • $2/hr bilingual premium
