One of the area’s new generation of entrepreneurs is now a City Councillor

Nathan Colquhoun talks about what he sees as the future for the community

We last spoke with Nathan Colquhoun about two years ago, when the (still) young entrepreneur had, with a few friends, started Refined Fool, a craft brewing operation with a location on Davis Street.

Today, that business has grown considerably, but the real purpose of this conversation was to explore some of Colquhoun’s objectives as a City Councillor, his having been elected in last fall’s municipal election.

With so many candidates vying for one of just four positions (as well as another four elected to serve on both the City Council and Lambton County Council), the very idea of Nathan Colquhoun being elected (having spent virtually nothing on his campaign) is by itself a little unusual.

But here we are and our conversation with Nathan was among some of the most interesting we’ve had], at least from a political perspective and visionary in the sense that this young man is purposeful in his thoughts about what will make Sarnia a better place to live.
