OPP flags driver going 175 km/h on Highway 402 westbound in Sarnia

Driver faces 'racing' charge, with vehicle seized for seven days and license suspension

A driver accused of going 175 km/h on westbound Highway 402 Thursday evening has had his vehicle impounded for seven days and his license suspended for the same period of time.

Lambton OPP made the stop after flagging the vehicle with radar. The posted speed at that section of road is 100 km/h.

Upon conviction, the driver is liable to a fine of not less than $2,000 and not more than $10,000 or to imprisonment for a term of not more than six months, or to both. Conviction also may result in a suspension of license.
