Opportunities exist for firms interested in shipping over-size items for fabricators

The Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership, in cooperation with the Sarnia Lambton Industrial Alliance, is holding a seminar next week (March 8) for potential firms interested in taking advantage of an emerging need in the area: the shipping of over-sized and heavy fabrications produced by local firms.

The seminar, which is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 10;30 a.m. in the LamSar boardroom at 1257 Plank Rd., Sarnia, will feature guest speakers familiar with the process. They include:

  • Tim Heney – CEO – Thunder Bay Port Authority
  • Dan Bingeman – Assistant Vice-President – Supply Chain Solutions – CN Rail
  • Ken Musselman – Account Manager – Mammoet Canada Eastern Ltd.

David Moody of the Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership says there is a need for this type of work to be done to supply needs outside of the Lambton County area.

The session is free.

Those interested in attending should contact Moody at (519) 332-1820. Seating is limited and organizers are limiting attendance to a maximum of two seats per company.
