Organizers of Seniors Cruise are hoping for another successful year

Donations are still welcome for Monday, June 24 event on the Duc D'Orleans II

Each year about 2,000 people enjoy the Sarnia Seniors Cruise, an event that officials from Lambton Elderly Outreach stepped up last year when the event was in danger of being cancelled.

Thanks to the initiative of Bill Yurchuk, CEO of LEO, the Seniors Cruise was another success and plans are well underway for another iconic example of service to the community, especially those who have invested much of their lives right here in Sarnia-Lambton.

What organizers would like to make known is the ongoing need for funds to support this event, which was initiated by the late Peter Henderson, a legendary radio personality, more than 40 years ago.

Volunteers and cash donations are needed to see Peter’s dream continue to come true.

“Everyone donates with the spirit of doing good for our community, expecting nothing in return but a senior’s smile,” said Yurchuk.

Organizers say past support is “greatly appreciated” and this continued investment—in the form of time, money or product—is needed to sustain the event.

“We are hoping you will support the Cruise this year to continue to create the magic that makes it a success,” added Yurchuk.

Expressions of interest in supporting this event can be done by calling Caryn Taylor at (519) 344-1763, ext. 306.
