Police say arrests made in connection with murder investigation

Stop was made by OPP after high-speed pursuit

Sarnia Police have announced that a pursuit of a vehicle by Ontario Provincial Police has resulted in the arrest of two individuals, said to be “persons of interest” in an ongoing murder investigation that began on Friday.

The arrests, made early Sunday morning, were of a 27-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man. The vehicle involved was stopped with the use of “stop sticks” in the vicinity of Michigan Line and Highway 21.

Police said earlier that the body of 26-year-old Jonathan Patrick Pike had been found on Friday. At that time, the incident was said to be “suspicious” but Sarnia Police said on Saturday that it was now being treated as murder.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information on the matter is asked to contact Inspector Norm Hansen of Sarnia Police at (519) 344-8861, ext. 6086 or Crime Stoppers.
